Troubleshooting methods for industrial lenses Dec 14

The common faults of industrial lenses are divided into two categories: External pollution and damaged type.

Additives such as: dust, mildew, fog, water marks, oil, etc.

Damaged categories such as:

Mechanical failure (non-focusing, normal zooming, infinitely unable to focus, front mouth bumping and deformation)

Structural damage, appearance damage, scratches, nicks, scratches, degumming, peeling (aging, scratching), matting paint peeling, lens deterioration, aperture problems (aperture leakage, aperture not shrinking), grease aging, etc.

A1. External pollution and clean industrial lens

1.1 Dust

Generally speaking, although the dust indicated by the external lens group is shocking, it actually has the least impact on the shooting results.

Countermeasure: Keep the lens storage environment, develop the habit of wiping the lens dust, buy a reliable air blower and blow it frequently.

1.2 Mold

In the south, if it is not well preserved, the lens will generally be moldy. Generally speaking, humidity above 60 degrees is more dangerous.

If the mold is not serious, it will not have much impact on the actual photo. But mold will grow if it is not controlled. Once a large area of mold grows, it will seriously affect the photo effect.

Countermeasures: The drying oven is very important (a few hundred yuan); blue silica gel (tens of yuan) can also be packed in plastic bags and tightened. You can also find a few newspapers, dry them with a hair dryer, wrap the lens, and tie them with plastic bags for temporary emergency.

Moldy lenses need to be sterilized with ultraviolet light, and then dried and stored.

Manual physical removal of mildew will leave traces.

Washing, boiling in water to remove mildew, reinstalling the lens, the light structure will change.

1.3 Fog

This is the nightmare of the lens. The famous fogging lens: Nikon AF 35-70 F2.8 D. There are many causes of fog, which are related to the lens structure design.

Countermeasures: The drying oven is very important; pay attention to the use environment.

1.4 Water mark

A lens with a very fresh and clean appearance, if you don't see through the light, you may never know that it has been in water. Theoretically, pure water will leave no traces, and the traces left are all because of the impure water quality.

Countermeasure: It can be wiped or cleaned; but it is not easy to handle.

1.5 oil

If it's an edge, although it looks like oil is overflowing, it actually has a relatively small impact on imaging.

Countermeasure: There is almost no solution.

B2. Damaged and troubleshooting for defective industrial lenses

2.1 Mechanical failure (cannot focus, zoom, infinity can not focus, front mouth deformed)

There are many second-hand lenses with deformed front mouth. Most of them are deformed when the lens is dropped to the ground. Although it does not affect the photo effect, if it is not corrected, it will affect the upper hood and filter.

Countermeasure: Deal with the situation according to circumstances

2.2 Structural damage

Countermeasure: professional maintenance.

2.3 Appearance damage

Generally speaking, the damage of the appearance only affects the mood, but some traces of damage illustrate the trauma that the lens has suffered.

Countermeasures: Under the premise of not affecting the mood, the damage of the appearance can be accepted on a case-by-case basis.

2.4 Scratches

Scratches on the front lens generally have little effect, but scratches on the interior and rear lenses are more troublesome.

Countermeasure: Avoid shooting night scene aperture.
